Join : EPSO Wildland Fire
Volunteer
The El Paso County Wildland Fire Crew is seeking active, enthusiastic citizens in the local area to become new volunteers for one of the best wildland fire crews in the state of Colorado. If you love the outdoors and want to help protect our community from fire, we have a spot for you. We will teach you not only about fire, but how it feels to be part of a team and perform a job that will give you satisfaction rarely found in any other endeavor. The EPSO Wildland fire crew proudly protects the community of El Paso County including it’s citizens, homes, businesses and wild lands within our diverse county. We also provide mutual aid assistance to surrounding agencies including Fort Carson Fire Department, U.S. Forest Service, Colorado State Forest Service, Colorado Springs Utilities and neighboring counties. As part of our team you will work hard, participate in activities and form friendships that will last a lifetime. Join us, help us, help your neighbor, but most of all help yourself by joining our team of dedicated firefighters. We have volunteer crew members both male and female ranging from ages 18 to 60 with different levels of participation for all. Come join the crew, experience the tremendous feeling of personal accomplishment and teamwork that you can achieve in this exciting field!

Application
Before completing your application, please consider the following about El Paso County Sheriff's Office volunteer personnel selection process. Our program has higher standards than most organizations due to the nature of the work and the legal obligations of the Sheriff. This is not meant to discourage your interest to participate in a very worthwhile program, but to help you understand why we require so much personal information. Please complete every section of the application. If a question does not apply to you, write N/A. We suggest you read all the questions first since some specific data is required that you may have to collect. If you are interested in joining, we accepted applications until February 1, 2005 for the 2005 fire season. We will reopen the application process in Fall 2005 for the 2006 fire season.
